I've been looking at the ASUS W3V, and have been unable to find any information about a compatable port replicator. It has a "PortBar III Port" but I can't find any information on the "PortBar III" other than there seems to be several versions.

Well, turn yourself around... because the W3 doesn't support the port bar 3...... only the M3 (the future Z61a) and the M6 (Z70 series) support the port bar 3.

There is one version of the port bar 3.......... but there have been 3 versions of the port bar.

Basically version 2 and 3 differ like this...

    3 has: 1x VGA; 4 x usb 2.0's; 1 x RJ45; 1 x printer port; 1 x 65w ac adapter in.

2 had basically the same set up but only 2 x usb 1.0's and then 2 x ps2's (for keyboard and mouse) ....... since you can get those in usb form now, that's the reason they changed them.

But again, the W3 doesn't have the proprietary connection like the Z70 has........ you and see that in that it doesn't have it if you look at the pictures of the unit.

OK... but what I was really looking for was that since I was unsure that PortBar III would work, is if anyone had any other suggestions. I guess I wasn't clear. I'm looking for a good port replicator that connects via USB, Firewire, or PCMCIA.
