****.... i wish this was out sooner, it's totally what i'd send to my friend in the military who's charged me with buying him a sweet new gaming rig.
-
i think it costs around $2900 so it may be out of your friend's (and most of the u.s. population's) budget.

Hehe, Engadget's no longer using PROPortable pictures
.
This was pretty much explained in Justin's post that died off a while ago...
Still, nice info. I just don't like Engadget too much.

What's so bad having the Fn and CTRL swapped?
That's some beefed up specs, much unlike the VX1 -
I dun believe it's a 8700(i expect 8400 or X2400)... hopefully asus will make me believe.
-
Why don't you believe? With the estimated price of $2800, you should expect no less....
-
They charged it on the bling bling subwoofer wheel. Not the specs
jk
IF they put a 8700 in, wonder how long will the 8700arrived? October, November? Unless Nvidia decided to skip 8600. Or else we wont see this laptop till late of this year. -

That's not a subwoofer..... that's the fan grille for the air intake.

Why? Because they're raw images for authorized dealers to work with...... most dealers don't have access and don't have any photo editing skills... so they like to wait for someone like us to finish with them and then just rob them off our site. In terms of more difficult to get images that are news worthy.... sites that post news don't have access to the images and like to simply take them as well.... This way we can certian make sure anyone that does grab can't use them without some free advertising.
But in the end, there's a good two hours of editing raw images in 15-20 images.... they're then ours for the purposes of selling the products. -
I just saw the vx2 added to some online retailers here in sweden, and it seems it will have the go 7700, or at least the first versions will. The version we have here is called VX2-AK010G.

Yep, that's why I wanted to dispell any rumors..... The US version will no doubt be released well after the next chipset and next generation cpus and gpus are available.... way down the line.
... I didn't want anyone hootin' and hollerin' over what Europe would likely get as that market will buy up current chipset systems right up until and even after the next generation comes out.... They're not as ridiculously into the cutting edge as those in the US market.
Potential VX2 Specs? (WSXGA+/8700/UDVI/CFibre/Dock/etc)
