    Well.

I just reinstalled Windows XP Pro SP2 over my "old" Vista Biz. I have everything running fine, but I have a small issue with the Power management.

I just hate the Power 4 Gear XP version that Asus provide, I can't find a way of calling that thing a utility. It's super poor on choices and its the worst thing to configure ever!!

I was wondering if there is a way of changing the Power 4 Gear Extreme from the original Vista to make it work on XP, just because it is so nicely done and easily configurable.

What do you guys use in your XP? Are there any other ways of managing power besides the Official Asus Utility? I cannot have nothing, because the CPU is idle but is so hot. Back in Vista it only gets this hot when Playing/Working on heavy applications.

    Please share your knowledge.

I have never liked it, but you might want to look into NHC. Google is your friend.

    Personally I prefer RMClock.

I use both P4G and RMClock.

I use RMClock to undervolt the laptop and would highly you do the same if you are finding heat is an issue.

I then use P4G when on battery power to lock the processor at the lowest frequency possible which is also at a reduced voltage thanks to RMClock.

RMClock also controls the frequency (multiplier), not just the voltages. I think you can get rid of P4G and do all that you need with RMClock.

Yes, I'm personally a fan of RMClock as well, except that I found out that the atk utilities have some lag when not accompanied with P4G. Using both P4G and RMClock fixes this problem.
