I'm trying to find a replacement power adapter for my ASUS K53SV-XR1.

On the ASUS site under Specifications it reads:
    Output :
    19 V DC, 4.74 A, 90 W ((Dual Core)) , 120 W ((Quad Core))

DxDiag lists 8 cores so I believe that means I have the Quad Core notebook? I've been trying to look for an ASUS 19V, 4.74A, 120W power adapter but cannot find any. For example, the one listed from a certain parts store is only 90W. The 120W adapter on ASUS' site is 6.xA, etc.

I want to be sure I'm getting exactly the right kind of power adapter. I don't trust amazon/e-bay listings that read, "for K53S notebook!" because I've seen wild inaccuracies on some. Thanks!

If you are in the US, try here: ASUS eStore

You could buy a universal adapter as long as it has the same voltage and equal or greater amperage. Make sure it comes with the right tip too, most universal laptop adapters come with multiple tips so that should be covered.
