Came home to a dying computer battery, even though it was plugged in.

Troubleshooted and found that the green light doesn't come on on my power box that is in between the 2 piece power cord. When plugged in, the box makes a repeating, intermittent noise. Not loud but I can hear it when I put the box near my ear.

Is this thing fried? It's only been less than 2 years. Is it still covered by warranty? Can it be fixed? If not, where is a good cheap place to get power cords and batteries?

    Thanks

Yup it's gone... It's not supposed to make any electric sound while operating...

I would stop using it immediately! Noise from an electrical box can be very bad and is quite possibly a fire hazard.

As for a replacement the box and cord should be easy to find, make sure you get the exact same voltage/amps also double check the round plug to be sure it'll fit your laptop. However check with Asus about the battery as cheap knockoffs aren't worth the trouble.
