Ok well what I'm wondering about is I've just replaced my Z92U with a A6Km.
So now I've got a glossy screen over the matte one, I've got a Go7300 over a SiS m760GX, and bluetooth etc...

ok all good, untill i took a look at the battery drain in NHC.

With the sis m760GX on the Z92U (no dedicated graphics and a Turion MT-30) the drain on the battery was around 20 watts ish with the wireless on at idle. so I got around 3:20 of battery like from my 65watt 4400mAh battery

With the SiS 756 and Go7300 and Turion MT32 i get around 30 watts drain at idle. (nvidia powermizer set to battery saving)

On my A6Vc which is basically identical to my A6Km but with a Intel CPU the drain is a mear 15 watts when in idle and under the same conditions Go 6200.

So my Question is, is it the SIS 756 chipset that is using up all the extra power ?!?! cos from what I've heard the Turion and the Pentium-m use simular power when in idle. Or could i me missing something. I didnt install windows again, i just put the HDD into the new machine from the old one. but both CPU's are Turions..

The only thing i can think of is that the Go7300 must be using around 10watts when in idle, I've tried to underclock it using the coolbits reg entry and adjusting the GPU and GPU ram frequencies but no gains there.
Also tried undervolting the MT32 but that didnt make much difference either. It only uses 0.1v more at idle than the MT30 i previously had

    Any help will be appreciated!
    Cheers

My money is on both the gpu and cpu/chopset...the gpu is a model up from the 6200 and will most likely use a bit more power...what would be interesting is your drain under load.
Its also quite possible that the sis/amd combination has not been fully optimised, and in comparison to the intel is is still a young product.
There is a reason why most notebooks come with an intel, I guess you just found out why....amd is still struggling to put together a competitive solution althought there upcoming cpu line does look interesting.

well after reading the nVidia webpage is says that the increased performance fits within the exsisting power consumption of the 6200. so its better performance with no extra power usage.
Under load its a lot more, I've seen it up to 48watts in NHC. on the new MT32 (1v - 1.3v) Go7300.

my old MT30 (0.9v - 1.2v) and integrated sis graphics only drew about 33 watts max!

Max i mean screen brightness full and wireless on and CPU usage at 100% while encoding a DVD.

I was just a little dissapointed as I was hoping to get > 3.5 hours but am only around 2.5. I thought because the Mt32 has 1/2 the cache of the MT30 that it would use less power even though faster = obviously was wrong!

I'll have to wait till the AMD "YAMOTO" platform comes out with a proper low voltage chipset.

    cheers
