Think graphic wise the V1S will be as good or better at performin then the G1S?
I mean in terms of Gaming and such?

    Thanks!

    To put it simply...no.
The G1s has everything the V1s has with the exception of the graphics card. The G1s uses GDDR3 video ram while the V1s uses GDDR2 video ram (hasn't been confirmed but it's most likely going to be this)
However, the performance difference shouldn't be much between these two machines. For gaming, the G1 is better. For other purposes, I'd say they're about equal.

As mentioned, the V1s is a business class notebook, no reason to have the elusive GDDR3 8600Gt in it. Having the 8600GT itself is quite interesting to be honest haha.

I really hope that like the MBP the V1s will use lower clocked DDR3 but as pointed out, its a business class machine, not a big beefy gaming laptop, The G1s is substantially larger and heavier than the V1s which lets it dissipate more heat.

Also, the G1S's flashing LED lights add about 165 3Dmark points. The V1S has no chance.

In seriousness, the GDDR3 vs DDR2 difference means the G1S will definitely perform better. Some GDDR3 vs DDR2 comparisons have given as much as 800 3Dmark point differences (in 3DMark06). (Link: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=153226)
Of course, the usefulness of synthetic benchmarks is questionable, but that gives you some idea of the performance difference.

(Personally, I'd go for the V1S. But then again, I'm not a 'hardcore' gamer any more :).)

How does the flashing LED lights make it a better performer?

tremolo, they induce photonic symbiosis in the quantum qbits of the nvidia cores. The red light photons are more energetic, hence you should use them. With green it is only about 100 3Dmark points. Also it is better you make them flash as quick as possible, because the energy inductance of the photons variation is higher.

    OH,,,, i get it now.

by the way, red light photons are less energetic.

Think it can hit 3000 on 3dmark06?

Well, the Dell (DDR2) got 2900 3dMark06 with a T7300. The V1S has a T7500, which will help a bit. The V1S is probably better built too, which may or may not factor into it (better quality components?). Also, as drivers get better we may see an improvement.
Not sure if all that stuff will make up 100 points, but I think the V1S has a good chance. Failing that, I guess you could overclock it slightly?

What marks does your Inspiron 1520 get? Isn't that DDR2?

Yeah, it's GDDR2 and it hit 3000-3200 depending on drivers.
Was hoping to stay around that performance in the V1S.
I wouldn't mind the G1S but the look of the notebook itself kinda throws me off.
I really want a machine that won't be obsolete in the next few years.

I'd expect the V1S to hit at least what your 1520 does.

Yes the flashing lights on the G1S are like NOS stickers on a car. They boost performance by 10-15% just by being there.

But keep in mind it also sucks away battery life so only use it in short periods at a time =]

I thought the flashing lights were merely decorative. I'll have to give the G1s a second look (engage sunglasses).
