Does anybody know if I need a transformer to use a netbook in Italy or will it run on 220 volts. I hate to burn it up (it's new).

    Thanks in advance
    Jack

Your power brick should list a range of voltages that it can run safely on.

For example, my G51VX-RX05 power brick says that it can run from 100v-240v

The one thing you may need is a plug adapter for the PS to the wall (I needed one in Asia a couple of years ago when I was overseas), depending on the Italian wall socket. Most hotels have these available for guests, or you can purchase one if you're staying privately.
