No it won't, also what laptop do you own?
If you go to your desktop, right click, properties, screen saver, power, you can select P4G to be your main power management scheme.
A lot of people use P4G + NHC, is a great combo that allows the user to change power settings quickly by pressing a button, while NHC provide many great features, like undervolting and temperature readings. -
I just use NHC since there really is no reason to use both at the same time. The only thing p4g does that NHC doesn't is automatically adjust screen brightness and the amount of time it takes to standby, shut down, turn of screen, etc etc etc depending on your settings. These are things I can do myself and I typically hibernate when I'm not using my laptop so the auto turn off and stuff are annoying. Also screen brightness really depends on the lighting around you, so having it preset isn't much use to me either.
But to answer your question, I'm actually not sure if it will conflict. Some of the power settings for P4G actually do throttle the cpu which is something that NHC also does. This could cause some conflicts, but I'm not sure. -
But my NHC can change brightness too, so there is no p4g for me.
If you wonder how to do it search for my posts about ACPI, if you only enable brightness control (On Asus laptop!!!!) you should be perfectly safe... -

After reading this thread i decided to download and try NHC. I think it's great and it doesn't seem to conflict with P4G. I like the dynamic switching on there also. I have found though that under the battery tab it shows the battery tab at 44%. Ive only had my laptop 6 months, this sounds bad. btw ive got a W2JC

NHC is very useful, but be careful with the ACPI modules. A couple people have managed to stop their fans by accident messing around with it. That's why it is not enabled by default...

I now run NHC without Power4Gear to save resources and minimize compatibility problems, (and also, NHC's battery status bar is also very neat
) My P4G also has problem with automatically switching profiles sometimes.
Sometimes it doesn't switch from high performance when the Notebook runs on batteries, sometimes it doesn't revert back to high performance when the notebook is on AC power. Could this be because I haven't updated P4G? (I am using the one that is in the CD that came with the notebook) Is there an URL where I can download the latest P4G? -
Notebook Hardware Control blue screens Vista (if you do not delete the ACPI folder, which is a workaround, but you miss on the ACPI features), so be wary if you are using Vista
-
There is a new vista compatable version of NHC out.
-
yey, theres a build 6 for vista thats out
-
dynamic switch not working at all for me (A8Js
-
Good info here. Thanks. I'm going to try NHC. I never liked P4G and removed it several months ago.
-
there is? When did they release it? I mean teh NHC upgrade for Vista?
Also, whats the difference betweem Super performance and high performance? I noticed you can get super only when plugged in. -

I can't change the power management profile on my A8JS. I've got NHC and P4G installed. Anyone can help me with this? Are they conflicting each other? I've done nothing to NHC's settings after installation. I just use it to read temperatures.
Does NHC mess with my fan control? My laptop sounds awfully silent lol -
I have the Asus F3Ka and NHC works fine. Im fully pleased
-
If you're using XP MobileMeter is an option for temp reading. Otherwise, RMClock. Those should eliminate compatibility problems.
-
I read many posts and some say it works well and some that they have problems. What is the probability that it does not work? I would like to install NHC but Im not sure but on the other I would want to use NHC. Please help
-
ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
-
I also use NHC on my laptop now and will using on my new one. I think it works faster and better then P4G.

Dear All
I am using NHC for quite some time but I am not getting this software. First at times it makes my Laptop HP DV2750 go very quiet and it doesn't get heated up but then most of the time my laptop heats up and it give the option of automatically shuting off the laptop.
1. How to take full advantage of ACPI thingy .. i dun have a clue abt it.
2. how to shut this option of auto close
3. HP dv2750 gets heated up easily is there any way I can keep it cool
