When I switch to the "performance" or "entertainment" profiles using Power4Gear extreme on my X83Vm-X1, the color bit depth is reduced to 16 bit. If I select "battery saveing", it is set back to 32-bit color depth. This seems backwards to me, and I would like to stay in 32 bit when in performance or entertainment modes. As it is, I have to manually switch to 32 bit in the Nvidia control panel.

Is there any way to change how Power4Gear adjusts the color bit depth?

I was hoping someone out there had experienced this...

I realized last night that this only occurs when using an external display (Samsung SyncMaster 225BW). When using the notebook panel, all settings work as expected, and all of the Power4Gear settings keep the 32-bit color setting.

I guess now I'm looking for a setting in the Nvidia control panel that will force my external display to 32-bit.

I was wrong... It happens with the built-in panel also.

It seems intermittent, and hard to nail down.

    Any suggestions?

Have you tried editing the Power4gear profiles?

Yes. I don't see any settings, under the power4gear GUI or the advanced settings for each profile, that would affect color bit depth.
