I have an Asus F3JP with Vista Home Premium and I'm using Power4Gear eXtreme to manage the speed, display, sleeping etc.
There are these 4 profiles: High performance, Entertainment, Quiet office and Battery saving. What are the features and differences of the different profiles?
It seems that even though I set my Quiet office profile processor control to Maximum performance and 100% processor state, it does not give the full processor power to apps. If I select High performance profile with otherwise the same setting, games run much more smoothly. I haven't found any documentation for P4G extreme which would explain the differences between profiles.
I used to use NHC in Win XP and it made a lot more sense... processor runs at lowest freq and volts if there's no load and if needed, full power is used.

I have got regular Power4Gear and if you have a look each of the profiles will alter the speed of CPU #1 changing it and keeping CPU #0 with an original core speed.
For example on Quiet Officer mine will be running on 1.66 / 747
I have noticed that on High Performance it will activly change from 1.66 to 1.00 depending if i need it or not. -
how did you get to edit the cpu/gpu speed? Mine doesnt have that option to change. I would like that feature.

My power4gear extreme does not have cpu or gpu clock settings either. I think I'll uninstall it and return to NHC, then I would have also voltage control.
Power4Gear eXtreme profiles?
