Ive tried both power4gear downloads in the drivers part for the Z96J and it seems my brightness wont throttle down when i unplug.

I disabled power play but that didnt help. I dont have a brightness slider option in windows mobility center either.

I havent drained the battery down very much (currenty 1:20 @ 75%) but my best guess is, its not trigered by the remaining battery percentage.

I removed power4gear and it didnt come back in wondows power options.....anywhere i looked.

My last thought is, maybe its the video card drivers and the driverheaven modtool i used to update my video card?

I also just noticed that my power scheme doesnt change automaticly when unplugging or plugging back in. I think it worked when i was on the newest power4gear :(

Since you mentioned Windows Mobility Centre, I will assume you are using Vista. For future reference, when asking for assistance, be clear, concise and thorough when describing your problem.

Back on-topic: If you are using Vista, you may need to upgrade your BIOS if you want your brightness to automatically adjust when switching to-and-from battery mode. If no BIOS upgrade is available, unfortunately, you are out of luck. I am in the same boat with my W3V.

Yeah, sorry. It is Vista ultimate full version (not upgrade). I should have removed this since i posted in the drivers thread for my notebook.

Im on the latest bios 1201. I installed vista battery saver which helped solve the power switching problem. It changes schemes when i unplug, but im still not getting and brightness control. I see thats on a list of things to add for vista battery saver. Id really like to get the power4gear to work the way its supposed to and not have to use another util to do what p4g is supposed to do.

That is a strange problem. I also have trouble with Power4Gear and luminosity.
For example, when I'm running on battery I choose Quite Office mode, the luminosity is reduced to 60% but after a while the screen is very bright again.
Then I must reselect Quite Office (even though it wasn't changed).

How could I solve that ?
    Cheers.

I'm having a different problem with brightness and Power4Gear on my W3J - plugging and unplugging the power works perfectly fine, but I can't make my brightness max out and stay maxed out in Super Performance, High Performance or Game modes, it'll always reset to about 66%. Anyone have any ideas?
