Justin when do you expect the preordering for the W3J to start?

Also when do you think Asus will release the specs for the Lambo?

    Thanks

It was the 15th and then the w3j got pushed back so the preorder did also. He said he would make an announcement as soon as we could and that was the last I heard. I would say that first week in April? Assuming the w3j is in production by then of course.

There were a few posts about this in the main W3j thread. Justin has stated he will post here when it is available.

I would expect when a production date is set, PROPortable will being preorders shortly after. Right now, Justin has stated that there is a possibility W3j could get s****ped altogether, so I'm sure he is cautious to take people's money until he can guarantee they will receive their notebook in a reasonable time frame.

Yea I heard him mention that as well. That would be a huge disappointment if the W3J is canceled. However, if Asus cancels the W3J that would however increase the V6J and Lambo sales.

I dont believe he takes the money from you credit card until the notebook ships. So if he takes preorders and it ends up being cancelled, nothing will occur.

As for the Lambo specs, Im assuming a 1.83-2.0 ghz, 2 gb ram, 100 7200 rpm hd. The video card is the X factor of the unit. Now the V6J couldnt fit the X1600 because of how thin it is. So assuming if the Lambo doesnt increase in thickness, then the X1600 will probably not be on the Lambo. I think that the Lambo will have the nvidia 7600, I could be wrong. It wont have the 7400 because thats on the V6J but anything higher than the 7600 would be too hot/big to fit in the lambo.

If I remember right, Justin said that once he had confirmation that the W3js were on a boat towards the US, he would start preorders. If I follow correctly, that would be maybe a week after production, which is supposed to happen in about a week as well, if I follow everything right.

Wow - that would be a kick in that @#$ if they cancelled it.

As it stands I'm swaying back and forth between the w3j and the v6j.

Maybe the v1j is "the one" anyway...?

I don't think it would be wise to can the W3J, especially considering the popularity of its predecessor. It's marketed for a different group of people.

That being said... if it were cancelled, I would probably go for the V6J, so they might not lose many customers...

Wow.. thanks for answers everyone... Basically, I couldn't have said it better myself. As of today - there's STILL no production date set for the W3j - although to cancel it altogether would be seriously stupid since it was the best selling model of last year and the update is unreal... so it'll get made, the delivery date or actually the ETA of the delivery date is still fuzzy till they get it in line for production.

... on a side note - the W2 still hasn't gone in - unless Taiwan neglected to inform the US office....

.... Advanced orders will be taken once they give us something concrete... the delivery date doesn't need to be perfect - but they certainly need to have some pretty good idea.... could be tomorrow - could be next week -- could be next month in all honesty.... we'll see.

Hey thanks for the confirmation of that, Justin. Some of us are a little antsy because this thing is going to be so popular. Waiting is hard to do.

Edit-- When you do have pre-ordering available, are you anticipating pre-announcing a specific time to open up the shop, or will it open up and then an announcement on the forums? I'm envisioning the Oklahoma land grab in cyber space.

Yeah..... the forum is always the first to know - although, what's funny is we always get more non-members making pre-orders than all those members who talk up about wanting to be the first to have them...... so, right now all I'm waiting for to open the page is confirmation of a production date.....
