Anyone has an idea on the price of the W1J? From what Ive heard the price will be approximately 360 USD more expensive than the W1V its introduction price.

The problem is, I can't find its introduction price? I really wonder what the price of the W1J will finally be, as the difference with the V6J and W2J isn't that big... (just 200 USD). This would probably mean the price of the W1J will be inbetween the price of the W2J and V6J... sounds kind of strange to me.

    What do you guys think?

They are right, in Europe everything is more expensive, and bear in mind the above mentioned systems have been upgraded by 2048 667 memory.

Edited, they give you the opportunity to downgrade your CPU with a refund of 99 EUR

Edit: One difference: the Dutch system comes with 2 year pick up return in contras to one year for the American system.

are those prices also including VAT?.......i believe that if the unit is sold to someone outside the EU, the VAT does not apply......but that still would make the european ASUS more expensive than US.

The Dutch system does include VAT, 19%.
I don't know whether Proportable's price does include VAT...

Anyway, If I'd choose to import a notebook from the US, I would have to pay VAT + import duties anyway as soon as it arrives at the Dutch customs.

EDIT: Mnesikles, I don't know where you are from, but I assume the same applies to the US...

true, if you bought from US you would likely have to pay import duty and VAT after the fact...but our closest equivalent to VAT is sales tax, which is controlled by each state. so for example, i live in boston, massachusetts, so i would pay the % tax according to the law of the state where i buy the computer. if i buy the computer from the EU, the VAT is typically not charged (at least it wasn't in the UK), and we don't have an import duty per se.....however, technically we are supposed to declare on our annual taxes any items bought outside of the state which weren't subject to sales tax.
