I just wanted it to be clear about the GPU since I have seen far too many people ask the question about dedicated graphics and watching movies.

Isn't that coach the same one who went to the 'skins in the NFL? The 'skins have broke my heart for, oh, I don't know, 14 years now?

I just configured identicle E1405 and Z62F models.

    E1405 - $1149
    Z62F - $1250

The Z62F has a built in 1.35MP camera and a card reader that the dell doesn't have...

The Ensemble models are much higher quality then anything Dell builds, the only fair comparison would be between the Built Ons and the Dells...

How about the ultraportable-dedicated segment? Lets see - M1210 vs W7j:

    W7j - $1399 (Core Duo 1.83ghz, 100GB 5400RPM)
    M1210 - $1512 (Core 2 Duo 1.86ghz, 80GB 5400RPM)

The W7J design is sleaker, thinner, and lighter then the Dell, and has better battery life.

Do you know what many people think when they see an Apple Macbook or Macbook Pro?

    Quality?
    Expensive?
    Sexy?
    Artistic?
    Popular?
    Powerful?
    Awesome machines?

Well, Macbooks are built by one of the best notebook manufacturers, can you guess who? (hint: it's not Apple)...

Yes, they're manufactured by ASUS, period!!!!

P.S. If you don't believe me, just google it and see for yourself. (Asus Macbook)

I bought ASUS because of the price - I have the G1 - an equivalent Sony was a few hundred more, Dell didn't do an equivalent but it would have cost a few hundred more for inferior specs with a worse battery life and less portability (but more screen real estate and better gfx).

I don't really understand why people think the ASUS are overpriced - are they comparing entry level flexi-chassis model against ASUS models with much nicer chassis?

Anyone who thinks the V6j is overpriced at $1900 needs to have their head checked. It has an amazing build quality, and its a nice looking computer, with pretty good specs.

No, it's shipment was cut to 1/3 but it still ships.
I don't think there was a problem with ASUS, rather , Apple wanted to reduce costs.Anyway, making laptop's that slim was not a good idea to begin with.Of course stylishness is important but fans need some space to work correctly. So the original idea of MacBook was not good to begin with.
Anyway, ASUS laptop's have superior build quality and performance, especially if you travel a lot the build quality will help you.
