I saw a "coupon" like this that was from apparently... january?

Does anyone know if they still bump out the free shipping for NBR members?

Do any of the other companies do anything special for us?

    gentechpc.com (has a 5% off W3J coupon now!! :D )

    geared2play.com (has a -50$ instant off!! )

    powernotebooks.com

    c9tech.com

    portableone.com

    milestonePC.com

-I'm going to buy either a W3J or a W7J (the W7J limit's my buyinglocations... since it is a pre-order, and not everyone has them yet. But the W3J can be obtained from any of these locations.) Anyone recommend 1 seller over another for a W3J purchase? Anything special i might want to know about?

    http://www.resellerratings.com/

Most, if not all of the resellers are on that website.

There are some posting requirements before you can be eligible for this discount.

It's not just a certain amount of posts you need, but actually more like how much of a contribution you have made to the community we have here.

Kind of a subjective decision Justin must make I'm guessing.

This is just a guess so ask him directly.

It's really not subjective.... either they meet the requirements or they don't. The only subjective part is if they try to meet the required posts by making stupid posts (like we've seen many do) --- "I agree" or "my favorite color is red".... NBR doesn't want people spamming the forum to get a discount.

Yesterday I also added an option that many have requested over the months.... it's a delayed discount.... For new members or forum trolls who are inspired to sign up and be part of the community but can't or don't want to wait to meet the member discount requirements. The discount is a member perk and for that, it has to be remotely special.... hence the criteria to meet. For these members and to be members, if they mention the forum on their order form and that they're going to meet the requirements down the road, they can contact me when they meet the requirements and I'll have them set up a $50 coupon for them for future use..... The world isn't perfect or fair.... but I think this is decent for those contact me everyday and say "oh come on, do I really need to meet those requirements?" .... Yes... otherwise it's not fair to the contributing members.

That 5% really caught my eye, thats $90 I could save. Upon looking at their site I saw that I could upgrade the ram to 2 gigs for $90 also. So for the regular price I can get a W3J configured with 2 gigs of ram for the regular price? Could some one tell me why I shouldn't go for this?

Only answer i can give is, the gentechPC reseller ratings arnt stellar.... but *shrugs* dunno. 90$ is a **** 90$ ! you know? lol

Personally i'm sticking with C9Tech (50$ instant off and free delivery)

Or getting a sony SZ from Portableone.com

    Or a W7J from milestonePC

....i'm a very undecided person. lol.

Gentechpc's supply might be limited. From what I heard, only three sites got the last shipment of W3Js: ProPortable, Geared2Play, and Powernotebooks.

I'm sorry, you can't consider anyone on reseller ratings "excellent" until they have at least obtained one of their customer satisfaction awards.... time and review count has a tendency to even things out..... Their 6 month average is 10 - but that's out of 9 reviews....... I'm not saying it's bad, but calling their rating "excellent" is really going above and beyond.

What's left of the newest W3j shipments shouldn't last that long. What we have in stock are the units with the 2.0ghz/1x1gb - the main, large shipment of these units should be here in about a week and a half, but a small shipment arrived and Asus tried to fill some backorders they had..... price and configuration shouldn't move a drop for the next couple months at least.

um its kinda hard to determine if u had actually posted 30+ to the asus forum alone bc if u post to the other sections like upgrades or what notebook should i buy and such, u sorta lose track. how do u see how many u have posted in the asus forum alone? thanks

Yea, I was gonna edit my post right after it to add that to consider the amount of reviews that Gentech has and the amount of time they've been up on Ressellerratings.. BUT, I can personally say that their customer service IS excellent, because I've dealt with Gentech and Ken Lee before.

Well, if someone submitted their handle for a discount and sales sent me over the name and I've never seen it before... I can certainly go through their profile and find out how many posts they have and where they were..... I've had people in the past post in other forums on there just to get the post count up........ in there they usually posted those stupid comments I made above, but figured that was good enough because I could never see them...... Let's just say that if I know you contribute, I'm not going to count every darn post..... but if you have exactly 30 posts and you place an order on exactly however many days after the account was active..... usually those people really aren't contributors, they just had extra time on their hands..... But I do look into all of them to see what kind of questions people have asked and what kind of answers they've given other people....

... you have to remember, this entire thing has very little to do with a discount.... the program is a reward for the continued contribution to the community as a whole...... your questions and answers help other people and help bring more people to this community..... as a result, I reward those people by giving them something special. It really shouldn't be looked at in another other way.

I was always keen to get the 2.0ghz W3J.........

Hypothetically speaking...(because its only a 0.17ghz diff). But if I was to sell my W3J and buy another with the 2.0ghz Duo, are the warantees transferable, to the person I sold it too?

Click on your handle next to your post, click on Find More Posts By XX on the pulldown, and then count how many are on Asus.

rubiks - your current count as of this am was 34 ;).
