Ok so I just bought an Asus Eee PC 1005ha-p

I got it in the mail today, turned it on, booted it up ect ect
The problem is I can't seem to connect to my router, It recognizes the router but when I hit it, it times out and saying

"Please wait while windows connects to the "Network"

"Waiting for network to be ready"

I'm getting angry, my Asus g50vt a1 connects to the network fine

    PLEASE HELP ME

EDIT: I tried to connect to a random network near my house and I can connect to that but my network it won't connect to

    WHAT GIVES?

I have a 1008HA and the wireless could not detect ANY networks, even standing right on top of the dang thing.

I checked the ASUS support page and found that there was a BIOS update that addressed the wireless issues with XP.

I find that usually a quick call to Asus support 888-678-3688 opt 3 (Tech Support) opt 1 (EEEPC) will do wonders for your blood pressure.

its weird that you were able to connect to a random network but not your own. is the other network you connect to open and your network closed? the only time ive seen an timeout like that is when something was wrong with the network key or the wireless is off. make sure your key was correct.

Yes, the BIOS update fixed it and now it runs flawlessly.

It is odd that you can connect to another wireless but not your own.

Another option is to go into device manager and delete your wireless and then detect hardware so it reinstalls it just incase, but your issue still seems odd.

I am pretty sure it's correct

I could of sworn I had capitals in it but it wouldn't except it so I typed lowercase and it started trying to connect.

EDIT: omfg I knew I was right, when I first typed in the password with uppercase letters it said there was an error or some stuff idk, I tried it several times, with capitals, same result, so then I typed it in lowercase and it started trying to connect but couldn't becuase lowercase letters are not the right password, I just tried the correct passwaord again with capitals and I didn't get the error this time, weird as heck

it's all good now, now I customize it
