    Hi.
I just purchased ASUS M50 Series M50Vm-X1 NoteBook.
Not as happy as i thought i would be.
The vista runs slower than i thought it would.
everything is skippy! all the menus, mouse cursor, everything.
especially when i play movie files, the frames keeps skipping.
I opened the box two days ago running vista.
I uninstalled most of the asus programs but wouldn't help.
I put the performance settings to "adjust for best performance" and made the vista a little smoother.
I haven't installed any software yet except for divx, codecs needed for running movies.
    What should I do?
    please help~

You could try a clean install of vista to make sure all of the bloatware is gone... Sounds to me like there is something running in the background like anti virus software...

I heard of this issue, it seems your monitor is stuck at 18hz refresh rate, causing the issue you mention.

If that is your current problem, I heard the solution was to update your video drivers, which apparently help. Installing the latest Nvidia drivers on the Asus page will help. An user reported that the issue went away after installing, and re-installing correctly the Asus Driver, returning to 60hz.

    Hope that information helps! :D
