Have you tried a different brand of blank CDs or tried burning at a slower speed?

Your optical drive may have died.

Does your optical drive recognize any sort of media? (ie; install CD, DVDs of any sort)

What are you trying to burn?

Try using this program: CDBurnerXP - CNET Download.com

Also, as Namaiki suggested, try using a different brand of CD and running at a slower burn speed.
