I just tried updating my video driver to 163.44 from the default G1S driver.

After browsing to the 163.44 folder, Vista wouldn't let me install 163.44's because "Vista has determined that the best driver is already installed".

I guess I need to uninstall the pre-existing drivers first?

Dont choose the Automatically Installation of drivers

Go to your Device manager > Display Devices. Open up your videocards file and click on update driver > "Choose your drivers/Have Disk" option

    Thanks, that worked.

It appears after installing 163.44 that I lost my Nvidia control manger.

How can I set the 0 Gamma and 50 and 50 for the color settings?

Im not 100% sure but i think you can set it using the windows display settings. I havent seem to have lost my control manager, i dont remember it having a gamma settings in there anyway

Have you tried Ntune? Download it from http://www.nvidia.com/object/sysutility.html its nvidias gfx card tool, very handy

I would ALWAYS uninstall the old drivers first. Not only is it well known in the computer enthusiast world as the only safe way to do it, I think nvidia has it on there offical install instructions aswell.
