Hi, I posted a few days ago about a problem I was having with my M50SV-A1. Wasn't able to fix it, so I stuck in the Recovery DVD and began a factory restore. It loaded everything off the DVD, then asked for the Drivers CD which I put in. It did its thing with that then said it needed to restart. It restarted and gets to the Windows Vista Welcome Screen but then pops up with the message "Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation"
I have re-tried the installation 4 times now, using the 3 different options given to me upon starting the recovery (the options are for setting up one, or two partitions on the hdd).

Has anyone else had this problem with an Asus? Or this model specifically? Not sure what I can do at this point. It's still under the 2 year warranty, but I'd rather deal with it if I can.

    Thanks,

    Jason

Don't restart the computer even it ask you to restart the computer, it's just one of the softwares ask you to restart but the system restore still installing other drivers and softwares.

After you insert the drivers DVD and click continue you can just walk away, the whole process take about 2 hours to complete and the computer will restart by itself several times, it's finish only the computer shuts down completely.

Or you can press F9 when you see Asus logo, it's much faster.
