My daughter gave me her ASUS F3F to fix because it had a corruped hard disk. To make it run faster I put in a Kingston V300 solid state drive. When I try to reinstall windows it begins to boot up. I got the 'Windows is loading Files' bar at the bottom of the screen which loads. It then changes screen to the word Windows and the icon spinning above it. The screen then goes black and the laptop begins to powers down. Firstly I can head the power in the lap top but after a few second all activity ceases and the the laptop locks. Can anyone tell me what is the problem and how can I load windows. Is the laptop dead? It loaded with the old corrupted drive.

So does the laptop fully power down when this occurs? Or does the screen go black while the system continues to run? Sounds more like a problem related to the drive rather than anything else (you can test that theory by starting up the system, going into BIOS, and leave the system running in BIOS for awhile with the SSD removed. If it doesn't lock up, trying it again with the SSD installed).
