Okay so I have a unique problem. It started a few days ago.

There are several different performance options or configurations for this computer under something called "Power4 Gear"

Basically it gives different options for power usage for when the computer is on either AC or DC power. Right now, the screen is dark, like it is on DC power and I can not change it back. Under the basic menu there is no option for adjusting the screen brightness under the top level of AC performance which is the option I want to use. Whenever I click on the top performance levels it seems to "power down"

How can I change it back so that my screen is fully lit? If my explanation of my problem doesn't make any sense I will try and clarify anything I can because I want to solve this problem as quickly as possible...

Maybe you've accidentally turned the brightness down - "Fn" and F6 together increase the brightness of your screen. Push this combination several times to increase the brightness to the desired level.

If this doesn't cure your problem, then go to START - CONTROL PANEL - POWER OPTIONS. Under POWER4GEAR HIGH PERFORMANCE, click on CHANGE PLAN SETTINGS. Here you can specify the default brightness under the high performance plan.

Let me know how you get on.

You're welcome. Just check my post again, because I edited it, and added how to change the Default settings.

Yeah, I'm running Vista - It's different - But did you solve your prob. by manually increasing the brightness ?
