My girlfriend has a toshiba a300-17N (CoreDuo 2370, 2gb Ram, VGA - X3100) so the problem is that the notebook is showing very high temperatures ... The body is not even worm but RMClock shows that the processor is 55-60 degrees without doing anything (IDLE Computer) what can be the problem ... One more thing RMClock shows that both cores are running from time to time and the Clock speed of the processor is never at one place, it non-stop rises and falls rom 800mhz to 1.73ghz. Sorry for my English, hope that you had understood me
PS: Sorry for posting in the asus section but the guys at the toshiba section dont answer. Since I am a asus owner, I had several threads posted in here and the users were very helpful so I hope they can help me this time too![]()

sesshomaru Suspended Disbelief!
Check to see if the vents are dusty.. Give the notebook a good blowout with compressed air. Clean the Heatsink fan.
The changes in clockspeed and voltages are normal. -
I did all of that, the problem is not from dust...
and yes the clock speed and voltages are normal.

It sounds as though to me your computer is running a lot of junk in the background. When my processor clocks back to 990mhz, it only rises back up if something a little bit demanding is running in the background. Try shutting down unnecessary programs and such, to see if it helps with the cpu changing frequently.
Also, what you can try to do (I imagine Vista is installed) is setting the cpu to run at minimum speed all the time to see if the temperatures start to drop. 55 - 60'C is about average on these cpus when they run at full bore. When I clock my processor back it runs at about 45'C at idle.
