Hello,
Just bought a X50SL (quick config - t2390, 2gb, hd3470) notebook here in Spain but when i start using i notice that wasnt working properly because it was very slow so i went to check everything then i saw the video memory... 1024 mb... 256 of the Vgb and 767 from my ram memory was shared to my Vga. I really think this is the problem but i dont know how can i only use the Vga memory and let the rest to my Ram memory so the OS (vista 32) can run smoth.
I didnt saw the option to change on Bios or in the windows. If anyone can help beacuse im really pissed...just spent 500 and im desesperate cause i dont want to buy more memory. Im broke.
Sorry for my bad english and i would apreciate any help.

The video card automatically allocates the 768MB of memory when it runs out of the dedicated 256MB of RAM (which is not that likely to happen). Your computer might be running slow because of too many processes running or the processor (which is based on the older Intel Core architecture). Pentium Dual core processors have been around for nearly 2 years already. Also make sure that you change the Vista performance mode to "Performance" instead of "Balanced". Just left click on the battery icon near the clock and change the setting to Performance. It will probably help.

I concur that the video RAM shouldn't be the problem (AFAIK).
However, though old, that CPU should be able to handle desktop work just fine. Check your processes list, see what eats up CPU or makes a lot of HDD accesses. Make sure it's not malware!
Other, legitimate things can be going on, including HDD indexing by Vista, scheduled antivirus scan, etc.
