I have a ole but reliable asus v2s, however recently my laptop has been acting odd. It seems that whenever I boot up the laptop my mousepad pointer speed is always automatically set in the middle of the slow/fast spectrum when I clearly apply and set the speed to fast. However, when I shut down the laptop and boot it up again the pointer speed will be back in the middle of the spectrum.

The same problem has arisen in regards to power options for the laptop, my laptop always boots up in power saver mode even though I have it plugged in. I always set it back to high performance, but whenever I boot it back up it boots in power saver mode. This is getting really annoying since the laptop boots up slow... Any ideas for what the problem is and the solution to fix it? fyi I'm still using vista... Thanks guys
