I just had a weird problem when I tried to restart my g1, first time it shows that sound with the g1 eye symbol coming up and then it freezes for a long time there and the sound comes up again after around 3 minutes it freezes. I tried to power off the laptop by holding the power button for 3 seconds and power it on again, but the same problem appears again. I tried this about 3 times and I got frustrated with it, worried that I have to send my laptop to the ASUS service center. However, I tried it once more and it works. Can someone please tell me what happened and how to fix this kind of problem so it wont happen again in the future??

Looks like some sort of hardware glitch. Hope it never happens again. :)

However, if it does, here's what to do. Remove battery, unplug from the wall, and push power button three or four times in sequence, each time keeping it pressed down for twenty seconds or so.

Then plug it back in and try to boot it up.

Well, there are people that would beg to differ, but I say yes, it's OK. It's a current-generation computer, it should be able to run 24/7. It might not last so long, which is normal, but other than that it should be ok.

Just make sure you check the fans and vents for dust buildup, regularly (at least once every 3 months, if the computer is on all the time).
