This is a common problem, not just with the Asus G1S, but for many laptops with Vista. Apparently, there is a conflict where Vista opposes the Nvidia drivers (i don't know if this happens w/ ATI too), and it won't allow it to return from sleep. I think the problem is fixable if you download all the updates from Microsoft, but you could try new drivers as well if that doesn't solve your problem.

Sleep/Hibernate as theTORCH said tends to be unstable in Vista. Not only are there issues with nVidia drivers, but if you have certain devices attached to your PC with USB or eSATA it can actually corrupt drivers and cause a whole boatload of troubles.

    Hey guys.
i have a very similar problemb with my g1s as the one you are having.. i turned it to hibernate and shut the screen, i later tryed to turn it back on.
    *the power light came on
*the little blue "ASUS" is there on the tiny lcd
but that is it.. no hard drive activaty.. and the screen is blank..
thus far i have found no solution.. no matter what i press... i have turned it on and off about 5-6 times.. no change..
any theorys as to what i can do.. ?

    cheers pazz..
