Hi all I just bought and received my w7J and I had it on standby twice and everytime I try to get back into windows I get a black screen. Only solution for me is to hold down the power button til it completely shuts off and turning the laptop back on. Anyone else have this problem and if so how can I fix it? Thanks in advance.

There has been a couple of times where my notebook went to stand by and when I hit the power button it stalled at a black screen. I just waited a little long and eventually I got the Windows logon screen.

Hello... I experienced this problem once. When I hit the spacebar, it seemed like the computer had definitely revived from standby because I could hear the fans spin up, the optical drive click, and the hard drive doing some work. Also, when I hit ctrl-alt-del, I could hear the hard drive working.

So, my assumption was that there was something not working right with the screen turning back on, even though the rest of the laptop had correctly "revived". After that, I messed with the settings in Power4Gear and set it so that video is never turned off when going into standby (only when going into hibernation). I have a "blank" screen saver that approximates the same idea as turning the screen off.

Since then, I haven't experienced the problem again. But I would need to experiment with it some more to better isolate the problem.

Of the 5-6 times my w7j have gone to standby since I got it, only once it stalled at black screen while coming out. And yeah it seemed like the rest of the computer is back, just the screen stayed black. Not sure what the problem is, but all other times it's been fine. The laptop does seems to stall a bit sometimes rather randomly, but not really often. Most of the time it seems like frozen but if u wait patiently for that extra 10-15 seconds it becomes fine again. Not really sure why :-/

Ive found in that case, you close the lid, open it up again and touch a key, the screen will come rigth back as well.
