Just got this laptop from best buy 3 weeks ago, when i was on verizon in my old house, the internet run without any problems, two days ago i moved to another house where we have cox(only internet available because of landlord issues, verizon cant be installed in the condos), and since then i been having problems with the wireless diconnecting, i had to reonnect manually everysingle time after five minutes i turn my laptop on, i installed again the driver from asus i helped for about an hour then the internet was gone again, i got it working later and download the driver form intel it just didint work(showed as wireless of all the time) and i had to do a system recovery because it wont let me install an older version of the driver, so i would like to know what the problem is and if should go to best buy and tell them to change my laptop, or whats the solution,i know is not the problem with cox because i have a dell laptop and there are not any problems in it, so whats the problem hardware, driver, the router they installed is a wirelless-g Broadban router model no: WRT54G2 just in case it might a problem with the g wireless

Please respond i am desperate for help.....

Same problem here. The wireless in this unit seems to be really picky about what router it connects too. I finally gave up and bought a cricket wireless usb adapter for internet use. It works great. Never been disconnected once. Sorry, I know that doesn't solve your problem. FWIW I tried every driver imagineable and couldn't get one to keep me connected. Good luck with this issue.

I hate to tell you this man, but it is what it is. I was serious when I told you I went through every driver I could find (including the one asus gave you). For whatever reason the wireless in this notebook is really, really picky.

If anyone is reading this i think i found a driver that really works is the version 12.2.0.0 i cant really give you the adress because is the one that windows gave when it detected a problem with another of the other drivers that i installed, i have been connected to the internet for hours now and nothing happens when i shut it down and when i turn it on, things seem to be ok, after doing the driver update, i also follow the advise of an asus representative an update the firmware of my linksys router(i didnt need to but anyway, it is still working), the representative also told me that in the intel page you could find an article of problem that had been presenting between intel wireless cards and linksys router, I will keep you uptodate if any problems show up, in intel page there is a 12.4 driver i tried using that one and it just made things worse(so be careful)
i will try to upload the driver somewere just in case

I use that driver under XP but the stock driver is just slightly older then that. I have no issues with the wireless under conditions my desktop cards can barley hold connections with.
