Recently I have dual booted my F8Va laptop with Windows XP, the first OS being Windows Vista Ultimate. Using the internet via ethernet cable on Vista works flawlessly, as the drivers were MEANT for Vista. Unfortunately, XP isn't doing so great. The wireless for XP works perfectly fine, but in my dorm there is only wired connectivity. I have tried installing the drivers I used on Vista manually but the most I get is an error at he installation point. I have also downloaded a plethora of other older, and maybe even newer drivers but the closest I've gotten so far is the Low or No Connectivity. Nothing seems to work. I've disabled my firewall as well along with using multiple netsh in the command prompt window to reset various things. The drivers that I've been using are Realtek, which I'm assuming are the correct ones. If any one's experienced this or has an answer, it'd be much appreciated.

Check in your 'network connections' whether you enable LAN

yes, my LAN is enabled.

I'm puzzled too...
So your LAN works with Vista and doesn't work with XP.
You may want to look up what driver came with Vista, and try to use it for XP. It often works. If not, check ASUS website for XP driver. LAN drivers as rule come with ASUS CD, so check yours too
BTW, what brand of LAN hardware do you have? -
This driver should work for XP:
ftp://61.56.86.122/cn/nic/Driver_5694_XP_0619.zip
It does not have setup.exe so update driver from device manager.
