    Hey

    I own a one year old AsusK55v. (intel core i7, nvidia geoforce gt 630m 2gb, windows 7)

In an attempt to reformat my computer by myself I followed these steps:

    1. backed up all my files o a seagate external disc

    2. restarted my computer and hit F9

    3. followed the instructions and chose the 'recover windows to entire hd' option

    4. waited a whole day for the process to finally end and downloaded typical programs from a website called ninte (dropbox, Skype, adblock, win zip etc) and installed the seagate external disc program

    5. I rebooted my computer and hours later when it came back up it was super slow and a message appeared saying I have to install an atk0100 driver. (there was also an attempt to reformat it again using F9, but the computer wouldn't let me, with a message saying this option is restricted to asus computers)

    6. I downloaded the drive from the Asus website and rebooted .

    7. my computer is still SLOW as hell and the D drive is missing.

My question is how to fix my computer so it is a monster again.

    I appreciate your help!!!

If you have a Windows disc around that you can use I would do a clean install with that as the built in console does not seem to be working correctly.

For your D: drive you will need to assign that partition a drive letter which you do in disk management.
