I'm attempting to perform a clean vista install on my Asus G2 laptop from a recovery disk. I don't recall getting a recovery/drivers disk or may have just lost it.

    I downloaded the recovery disk iso image from neosmart.net ( http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ ).

When I try to install Vista it tells me it's missing " E:\Sources\Install.wim ", "Error Code: 0x80070002" after I enter the activation code.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First of all, do you still have the recovery partition on the HDD? If so, problem solved, reboot, press F9 at the ASUS splashscreen, recovery will start.

    Otherwise:

I think the easiest option is to get a retail copy of Vista, but that's expensive.

It seems that the recovery image that you downloaded is faulty or not suitable for your computer.

I don't think you can use the OEM S/N that you have on the bottom with the notebook with a retail Vista copy, unfortunately. There might be tweaks to do it but their legality may be somewhat uncertain.
