I've got an F8SV-B1 connected to a Westinghouse LMV37w3se via DVI.
Whenever it's connected, the secondary display is tinted red. Whenever there is supposed to be a black screen it's a full red screen.
Anyone have any idea what could be wrong? I've ensured that my connections are tight, and I know this DVI cable works.
Any assistance would be great, and if you need any more information to help, please ask.

Does the display offer any other ways to hook it up, like standard VGA, RCA, S-Video, etc.? Have you tried hooking the laptop up to it with any other method? Does the red tinting only appear with the DVI connection? If you adjust the DVI cable where it plugs into the display or the laptop, does the tint change colors? Are you actually getting a signal on the secondary display with a red tint over it, or is it just a black (red) screen all the time? This could be several things, including a problem with the graphics card, the display, or a software setting in the nVIDIA panel. You say you know the cable works, so I won't say there's an issue with it, though I've read examples of people having this problem when the contacts on their DVI cable were dirty or damaged.

I've used the DVI cable to connect my old desktop to this same television.
There is a VGA connection, I'll try it. -
Nothing wrong.

If you've used the same cable and television with a different computer and they work fine together, the issue would appear to be with the laptop. Once again, do you actually get an image on the second display, just with the red tint over it, or do you get no picture, just a black screen with a red tint?
Does the cable fit snuggly into the DVI port? Does there appear to be anything physically wrong with the port? Does adjusting the cable in the port have any effect on the coloring?
Basically, it seems pretty safe to rule out the TV and the cable as being involved since they work correctly with a different system, I'd look at the problem being with the port itself, the graphics card, or an nVIDIA driver issue. Since the software issue is the easiest to test first, I'd try removing and reinstalling the nVIDIA driver. If reinstalling the driver doesn't help, you might want to find someone else with a TV or monitor that supports DVI to test on to be sure the issue occurs on all devices, then you can for sure say it's not some sort of incompatibility between the 8600m and your TV. Barring that, I'd contact your tech support/ASUS and see if they suspect a hardware problem or have any alternative solutions. -
I can see images, just they're all red.
I'll reload drivers.
Thanks again. -
Reinstalled drivers, no dice.

Have you tried the DVi out on a different monitor/tv?
-
I haven't, I'll do that ASAP.

New symptom, I retried it to see what would happen and now the screen is tinted blue.
Any ideas? Also, I haven't been able to try it with a different monitor, yet. -
I'm trying to watch House and everyone's a Smurf!
This sucks. -
This is really important...

As I said, if the cable and the TV work with other systems, then the problem should be with the laptop itself. It could be the video card, the connecting port, or a software issue. I'm not sure a software issue would explain the color changing from red to blue. That sounds more like an issue with the connection. If you have no way to test the laptop with a different system, I'd recommend contacting your reseller and seeing if they have further suggestions or want to bring the system in for service.
