Just like to say thanks to everyone replying to this post in advance...I am deployed overseas in Afghanistan right now and i have a buddy with an M51 series Asus laptop.. he is having issues with the LAN on it.. When we try to run Battlefield 2 he cannot find anyone elses server via the LAN..I consider myself pretty computer savy...i have done all the givens..port forwarding..disabling firewall completely..checking his TCP/IP settings.. he can connect fine to the network.. do everything but find our servers on Battlefield 2...its quite strange..just wondering if anyone else had this issue? Thanks again

ctu11y. i think its not a problem with ur M51 LAN port. If you can connect to network fine when in normal work, it might be a problem with ur game.Or the server is blocking the game to connect to the Nation. There may be other problems that ill tell u after i had a check...

Although the original post is pretty old, maybe this still helps the OP.

It could still be a firewall issue. Be aware that Windows XP and Vista also have a default firewall running on any network connection, even if the 3rd party firewall is turned off; so that one might stop the game from connecting.
