Does bluetooth work on anyone's W7J? I tried sending a picture from my Asus W7J to my Nokia N70 but it doesn't seem to work. When I first bought it..and tried it,,, it doesn't work. Even after i formatted my computer and re installed everything (i formatted it not for the purpose of making the bluetooth work but because i wanted to "clean" out my computer and personalize it) .. the bluetooth still doesn't work. A friend has Asus W3000 and the same thing happened... the blue tooth doesn't work. But somehow after using for 3-4 months the bluetooth *suddenly* worked.... what's going on with Asus laptop bluetooths? Help!
(edit: - yes, i have used Bluetooth before.. i KNOW how to use it. and i know about pairing and all that. I have successfully sent files from OTHER PEOPLES LAPTOP to my N70... It just doesn't work on MY W7J laptop!)

Bluetooth works fine on my W7J.

Try uninstalling and then reisnatalling both the device driver and the bluetooth software.

    On your phone:
    Have you enabled bluetooth?
Have you made bluetooth visible to others?

If you have done both have you paired the two devices first?

If you need to reinstall the drivers, before doing this, you try to install the "Wireless Console Utility" because the utility can let the wireless device enable and disable either wirless adapter or bluetooth.
    Cheers

To test your bt find a simple device like a bt mouse or headphones. My rim blackberry has issues with bt laptops too. Asus doesnt make the bt module. I guess its a hit or miss when it comes to phones. Get a new phone not a new bt module is what i would do.

I've had the W7J for a while but only recently got a phone with bluetooth capability. Now I'm finding that the bluetooth in my W7J doesn't work. It keeps saying that the bluetooth device is stopped, but I've already turned it on via the Wireless Console utility.

I uninstalled the driver that came with the Asus CD and installed the newest driver from http://www.broadcom.com/products/bluetooth_update.php, but the device status (in My Bluetooth Places | Bluetooth Configuration | Diagnostics) still says the selected device is stopped.

Another thread mentioned a WidcommLicensePatcher but I couldn't find where to download this. Would using this patch solve the problem?

Any input would be deeply appreciated.

I have used two bluetooth devices on my W7j, a logitech bt mouse and a logitech bt cordless presenter for powerpoint. Both work fine. One suggestion that has worked for others is to make sure your phone also has its latest firmware update. Cellphone BT as discussed above is not as transparent as mice, I suspect there are proprietary codes that universal BT drivers like on the W7j do not work with these codes. Its unfortunate that the BT command language is not unified, Unfortunately phone to laptop syncs are hit or miss, same as BT enabled cars and their ability to interface with some phones.

Well, I booted up the W7J this morning and lo and behold! The Bluetooth was working. This time it was the Wireless Console that was not working, but after I did another cold boot, both Bluetooth and Wireless Console were working. I've got my fingers crossed that those two will be working from here on.

I've found the latest wireless console to be quite stable... something else may be going on there - but keep an eye on it and see if it simply corrected itself and/or try to figure WHY, by seeing if you can catch it stop working when perhaps some other process starts up or something..
