Hi all. I'm not sure if this is the correct area to post problems but I didn't see any other ones.

I have an ASUS laptop (model A6Q00VC) and I am having trouble with my speakers. For some reason, all the sounds that are played come out in a high-pitch than normally. I've checked all my sound options and have not found anything that causes this. Can someone lend me some help? I would gladly appreciate it. Thanks.

Was it always like this or is this an abnormal situation that arised only recently?

If the first (always been like this), it might be that that's how the speakers sound... Usually notebook speakers are rather poor and have poor bass performance. Is it noticeably distorted? Can you compare it to another notebook? It might be the speakers are bad and then you should RMA.

If the second, try to identify if there was a software change that trigerred the problem (e.g., driver change).

Does it sound the same in headphones? Or does it sound normal in headphones?

I was given this computer so I'm not sure if something was installed involving sound. I do know that the speakers worked normally as they would through a a stereo or desktop speakers however. I tried using headphones butit sounds the same.

If it sounds the same in headphones then the title of the thread is incorrect, it's not a "problem with the laptop speakers" , it's a "problem with the laptop sound".

Then, identify software that was installed / uninstalled / stopped between the time the sound worked properly, and the time that it doesn't. Do you find anything related to sound or drivers?

Besides this, I can't think of anything to suggest other than try updating the drivers.
