    Hi all~

I have actually had this problem from day one on my laptop but the first day I had it I did change the Wifi card to a 5300, but I dont think that should matter.

Anyway I can launch express gate but if I click any programs to run the screen switches to the icon that shows the program icon while its loading but just sits at that and never loads.

This happens no matter what option I pick. I have reloaded windows, and have loaded all versions of Express Gate.... I have flashed bios as they came out in hopes of a fix and FYI I am in a Raid 0 but that should work as it does load just programs wont launch.

    Any other ideas?

I dont care for it too much but would be nice to work as its an option and I have to have that dumb light for it.

I dont feel like opening to put old wifi card back but I doubt its that, but not sure what else can be as is new os install, multple times, and express gate and bios have alway been latest.

Searching online does not show anyone with this problem.

    Thanks in advance.

Did you get the latest express gate because older versions do not work in RAID0 and this is stated in the manual.

Yea, as said I have tried all versions that came out from the day I owned this thing.

It boots into it fine, which the non-raid support ones cant do, they say they cant find it.

Its just I cant launch any of the programs once I am in it. I click them, the screen changes to the icon in the center and than it just sits their like its going to load but never does. :(

guess no one else with this issue.

So knowing how the express gate works, is it possible this is a hardware issue?

I think you are the only one with the 5300 card, so I'd bet that EG doesn't play nicely with it, for whatever reason. Try PMing Allurgroceries, he is a Linux guy and may be able to put a new driver into EG.

This may sound trivial, but have you tried reinstalling expressgate in safe mode?
Make sure to restart your system upon each uninstall/install process.

Asus wont help me because I formated the drives and its in a raid. They ONLY provide support for FACTORY settings and OS. Plus they wont do anything if they know I changed the WiFi.

They said because I am in RAID and running Vista Ultimate not home prem it came with they cant help me.... Yea I know its BS but you all know the game.

Anyway correct me if I am wrong though but if it was the driver the for the 5300 (which under windows uses the same driver file as the other so it should work) wouldnt it still boot and run and just not find the wifi card or go online? It shouldnt just hang at loading the program i selected...

I seen other people say they boot to EG and its missing Wifi or something so I figure if anything thats all would happen. Mine boots to EG, I pick the program and it sits at that screen.
