My fiancee and I needed new laptops, and after much deliberation (and help from people here) I decided to spend $400 more and get us two higher quality laptops. For her, the M50Ta; for me, the G50Vt. I'm extremely satisfied with both so far -- I was pleasantly surprised to find very little bloatware already on the systems, but, being the hacker I am, I had to wipe mine out and customize it. All for the better.

I haven't had a chance to bench either of them yet -- I plan on doing some gaming and a lot of photo editing on mine; the fiancee will be doing photo editing and playing The Sims 2 (maybe Spore). I think we're gonna be set.

I was very frustrated with the keyboard lag on the M50, but after uninstalling the Synaptics driver, it seems to be fixed. I had some issues getting Vista reinstalled on the G50, but that was my fault -- accidentally used a 32-bit disk.

I especially love the display on the G50. Very, very nice. Worth The $1,300.
