I have a couple of questions.
-I have 4GB of Corsair ram ordered. My version came with pre-installed vista ultimate. Checking system properties I found that the version installed is 32 bit. There is a recovery DVD in the box; no vista DVD. What should I do to install the 64 bit version to access all the 4GB of RAM.
- I have not installed any software os far and the system seems sluggish for such a powerful configuration. Vista experience index is 4.4. What do I need to do to bring the system to optimum performance?
many thanks,
Hesham

You may be missing a driver or something, could you tell us which category is causing your 4.4? Mine got a 4.8.

as for vista x64 you can just get vista 64bit disk (order from MS or download image file and burn to a dvd) and use same cd key as 32bit
it worked for me -
Remove all the bloatware which came with the laptop, and then re-run the test. It will go to 4.7/4.8.

Yes, it should be from the bloatware. If you just turn everything you don't need off, and then run the index again you should move to about 4.7/4.8 which should be the RAM. The Graphics should be 5.9 and 5.5.
This happend to me as well. -

The PC came with Ultimate installed. not home premium. It is a different from the one sold in the US. However it is the 32 bit version of ultimate

Vista SP1 will be released this coming month so I suggest waiting for that before re-formating your HD. I am also waiting to update to Ultimate but I want a slipstreamed install, and MS says it will be released in early Sept.
