The newest version of the G51 w/1900x1080 screen, does anybody have dead or stuck pixels? I know ASUS has the dead pixel policy, but most sites that sell the asus offers a $$ policy. Has anybody had issues or should I not worry about getting a screen with dead pixels?

The asus policy actually does not cover a dead pix and ONLY covers a stuck if its a BRIGHT one...

Its called Zero Bright Dot policy...
A retailer also wont take the notebook back under either case unless a higher number of dead or stuck pix are present, they will say warranty it...

I myself would say dont worry about it... This is my 3rd G50 laptop... First one was good, second had 1 half stuck pixel but it was dark colored and they wouldnt cover it, but in the end had to swap laptop anyway because was DOA on another part... This third one is fine, other than stupid keyboard lag issue, but just cant have touchpad drivers installed and that solves that...

Anyway their are millions of pix on a screen for one or two to be bad is considered normal, unless its a bright one than they will replace the screen...

That being said, I work on PC for a living. All I buy is laptop and flat screens and flat TV's for my clients.... My % of ones with bad or stuck pix are about less than 1 %.... and I have bought a lot....

Ok. I was just wondering about that HD screen. A stuck red/green would annoy me to no end, but if there's hardly a issue with that particular screen, then I won't worry about it.
I bought more laptops than is listed in my sig, and as the years go gone, less and less has issues but some LCD brands have issues. Just making sure. :) thanks!

I have seen but 2 of these with a stuck pixel. It just so happen that both of these were customized versions we sold and had to send them back. I dont know the rate of dp on these but getting 2 within 1 week is alot higher then i want to see. Like bryan said these are covered for free for 1 month from asus. the chances of developing a bad pixel after 1 month of use are slim at best.
