I purchased this laptop used windows 8, everything worked great, went to update all the programs I usually use. I was using my Bluetooth mouse and my USB card reader when windows did an update and when it restarted I loss my USB ports and Bluetooth is non existent anymore.

I tried everything I could that I found on the net, uninstalled drivers, installed drivers ect.

Does anyone have any idea what went wrong with the update.

Thought I would ask before I do a complete refresh and back down to windows 7

I will chalk it up to the drivers are not prepared to handle Windows 8.1

My follow up question wold be how do I find out if Asus is even making an update to its drivers to correct this issue?

Let me rewrite my statement, since 8.1 the drivers put out by Asus do not work for my bluetooth

Try reinstalling your wireless card drivers. Most recent computers dont have a dedicated bluetooth module and use the one on the wifi card.

Which driver are you [trying to] use? And did you remove the current one before you installed whichever driver you are trying to update to?
