    What SSD/hybrid-SSD upgrade options are there for a Asus Q501la laptop? I've read somewhere online that it won't just take any 2.5" SSD, but I haven't seen compatibility charts anywhere except the Crucial website.

    It will take a 2.5" drive as long as the drive is no taller than 9.5 mm in height. Most SSDs are smaller than that, while only some mechanical drives are slightly larger.
