I restored my laptop (g50VT) just right now and but I only used one out of the two recovery discs included from ASUS + I used the driver CD. It's weird how it never prompt me to insert recovery disc #2 so is this normal??? How would I install the other recovery disc (2 of 2) to make sure I have everything installed? I notice I am missing Office Suite and the lightscribe software it suppose to come with. I want all my programs back like it was brand new with all preinstalled softwares etc... then just uninstall whatever I don't want.

Okay, for those who may have this problem in the future I found the solution to this. Instead of using the recovery discs, I used a hidden partition in the hard drive to restore everything back to factory settings with all softwares that come pre-installed when you first bought the laptop. Simply press F9 after the Republic of Gamers Logo and select Setup Windows EMS. From there, you read the ASUS terms and agreement and hit accept and the installation starts. NOTE: It will saying something about using the recovery DVD but ignore it and just go on with the installation with nothing in your optical drive.

Problems I found when using the recovery discs:
-Many drivers were not installed such as USB 2.0
    -Slower
-Some files in the wrong directory

I noticed the same thing, but you can get all the drivers back with the DVD. After restarting a few times, there will be a little box that pops up saying something about factory settings or factory state (can't remember, it's been a while). If you tell it to do that, then it makes everything Asus-looking. I believe you then have to put in the driver DVD, which will allow you to install the drivers/software you want. Not sure about lightscribe, but that is pointless since the DVD drive does not support lightscribe. Also not sure about office, since I have my own full version that I installed later.
