Essentially, Asus has a lot of models, and it seems since few dealers in my city sell them and I may have to buy online... I'm looking for a suggestion.
Essentially I'm looking for a laptop between 1800-2500 Canadian (15% exchange to American), 15-17inch, stylish in terms of looks that has the power to do gaming, and is generally sweet.
I could post detail after detail but I think the above is pretty explanatory but I do want it to Play DVD's, have a built in wireless card, and have decent battery life.
Thanks for the suggestions![]()

We are all wildly anticipating the W3J.. even though it's a 14" widescreen, the specs are awesome (1.83 dual core, 1024x1 ram, x1600 256 mb) coming in at only about 5 lbs! You should look into it.. according to the benchmarks, the 3dmark score is close to 4k and overclocked it comes in at 4388.
you should also look into the w2 series if youre looking for a multimedia-oriented system as it seems.. -
Although it is true that the w3j is the "big" thing right now, there will be a lot of larger screen power houses with the x1600 and a lot more to offer.
Right now, if we are focusing on ASUS ensemble products, the w2j is comming out at almost the same time as the w3j. It is in my opinion much more beautiful, and has a lot more to offer in its 17" package. Also, there is the slightly less powerful V6j (has the nVidia 7400), but it one georgous machine.
However on the "built on asus" line, I made a post a few days ago, where I posted the built on ASUS roadmap for this year. Ill just reiterate what I posted, because the public should have never seen it in the first place:
There will be a variety of built on ASUS models that have the 256mb ati x1600 in 17" and 15.4" models. Their production dates are unknown though. I would assume at the end of the summer.
You have a multitude of options from the ASUS line if you would be willing to wait. Otherwise, a few great ensemble models are available now, and even more available in the future. -

If your not doing hardcore gaming, I would reccomend the V6j. I have it and can play F.E.A.R. and pretty good settings, but it also does the other things you will want. It has pretty good battery life, a nice screen, good looks, and is just a joy to use. Lots of people wan the x1600, but unless you game constantly, you will probably be ok without it.
