Anybody knows where to buy G1P ? I've been looking around but only find "Pre-Order" or "Out of Stock". Please let me know where to buy it b/c I deadly need it for my son's birthday.
Thanks for helping me
-
It's been out of stock for a while due to the demand, I'm not sure of the next shipment.
To be most updated, I'd email or call every dealer to see if they have it in stock.
Good luck. -
I believe xoticpc.com has some in stock.
-
try checking all Us resellers posted on asus http://usa.asus.com/wheretobuy.aspx

It's going to be tough getting an Asus G1 right now. Supply is low and demand is high. I'd start contacting all the resellers to see if anybody has them in stock.
Last I heard they should be somewhat available in January. -
zipzoomfly.com has them in stock
-
Not saying that's definitely the case here, but just be wary. -
geared2play.com has ONE LEFT! GET IT QUICK!
Xotic PC will have them too. I bought the G1 from them.
Wow, some lucky kid is getting an awesome b-day gift. -

@maomanmaman:
Thanks for showing me man. Appreciate that!
Unfortunately, I need to wait til Tuesday b/c today is January 1st, nobody works there -
-
Oh man, I am so unlucky. I contact btotech this morning and he confirmed that there was 1 left. Unfortunately, somebody had gotten there and bought it before I did, another hope was gone. However, thanks for ur help. I guess my son's present will be late.

Woah.. seems like its gonna be tough to get the G1 for me !

wow...is that kid getting the G1 as a surprise gift? He's ONE LUCKY KID. I mean, it's already pretty exciting when you're sitting there waiting for your anticipated G1 to arrive, but what's better than RECEIVING THE G1 FOR A SURPRISE?
-
That is pretty sweet. I am getting mine delivered this Wednesday. Anyway, do you guys know if FedEX Ground works on Holiday, specfically New Year and its Eve?
-
Dyingduck, why do you ask when it's the 2nd of January today? Unless you were talking about them actually 'driving' your shipment over either via plane or truck - I think the answer is no, the drivers take a break as well. But I am certain they do not deliver on New Year's day but they may deliver on New Year's Eve.

looked up the G1p on Geared2play.com
just wondering if it's really possible to get 4GB of RAM into the G1...even if at a hefty price.
thanks! -

Still testing them. Thats why it says "may delay". Still waiting on kingston modules we ordered to come in. Should be a few more days. Once they are in the "may delay" message will dissapear. The 945 chipset is designed to work with 2gb modules. I dont see why they would not be compatible.
-
It's possible, though RAM for a stick is about $600 per pop.
-
Geared2play.com: Any chance of getting the $1749 pre-order price again?
-
One more question :
What do I need in order to play my PS2 (playstation2 console) on the G1p? a tv tuner card i suppose... but I've never used one before... is it possible to get a built-in one for the G1? -
Hey Everybody.
After looking around the ASUS Resellers, Ken ( gentechpc.com ) has sent an email to me today at 12:09 PM and I have good news: They have ASUS G1P in stock so I quickly order it( Don't want to be like the last time ). Thanks for helping me and I think that my son will be surprise for this.
P/s: This is so funny, after I order, Gentech calls to confirm the order and when I ask him how long does it take to ship it, he said "G1P is in back-order now but they say that they will get the shipment in this week" So I guess I will get it around next week. That sucks, right???
Again, thank you all for helping me. Happy New YEar. -

So does this laptop allow for 4GB of ram? I have been looking around and almost every site says it has a max of 2GB. I was wondering because I don't want to get a laptop that is already upgraded to the max. -
the core duo chipset can take up to 4 gigs. however, b/c of the large costs of having 2 gig modules, most notebooks do not offer it and may not even have it enabled in the bios.
-
By the way, does anyone know how much a Nvidia 7700 512 MB in ASUS G1 cost ?
-
Well is it possible to change the amount in the bios? I mean I understand that it's expensive but I might want 4GB in 2 years because it will probably cheaper then. If anyone knows if it is possible it would be good to know.

Edited on Jan 03, AM: Now we have more inventory. -
Cool thanks
-
So I'll wait for the next G1 shipment and for things to calm down a tad.
My questions are these:
Does anyone offer a XP Pro upgrade?
I've not used Media Center and I do plan on using this for business as well as gaming.
Is there any plan to offer a V1J style with a Go7700?

got 8 g1's on hand

my g1 just came in today. does anyone have a list of all the processes running and know which programs they belong to ? i remember some one making a post about it.
-
Hi! Im new to the forum but I ordered my G1 earlier today and thought i'd make a post!
Here in the UK, the laptop is quite abit more expensive than over in the US (they are £1300, roughly equal to $2500)!! They do come with XP Professional though which i guess is a bonus, even if an expensive one!
The question I wanted to ask was does anyone know if the UK model is lighter than the US one? I've seen afew complaints in the forums about the weight but here on www.asuslaptop.co.uk it seems to think the weight is 2.8kg? That's lighter than people have been saying the weight is isn't it?Last edited by a moderator: Feb 2, 2015 -

Different OS or accessories are possible, but I don't believe the weight is different.
