    to begin, i am not at my parents' place and cannot return until this weekend because i have already moved out. so, in order to take only what i need to survive (i have a small car to move stuff with), i didn't bring my g1s box with manual.

    basically, last night when i came home from the library, the little led light at the bottom of my notebook (where all the hotkeys are) was green at the lightbulb icon, but turned orange at the battery icon and continued to th wireless icon. i have seen this before, but didn't really think anything of it, but this time the orange part was pulsating.

    still, i didn't think much of it, so i turned off my laptop for the night and the thing was still pulsating! i know it can't be the battery because it's plugged into the wall. i doubt it was a new e-mail and why would it pulsate if i wasn't getting a wireless connection?

    the simple answer would be to look it up in my manual, but i can't unfortunately so i'm the next best thing! asking this community, which has helped me out so many times before, what's up. what does each icon specifically mean and what does it mean if it's orange and what does it mean if it's flashing?

    thanks a lot in advance! i'm sure the answer will make me feel stupid by the way. =]

    The G1S manual is on the Asus website now, but:

    Green light bulb = powered on. blinks in sleep mode
    Orange battery = battery charging, blinks when <10% and not plugged in
    Email = new email
    Wireless antenna = wireless and/or bluetooth enabled. doesn't blink.

    It wasn't real clear which one was blinking for you.

    Are you absolutely shure that the laptop really shut down, or did it enter hibernation or some other standbyform? My current machine blinks the power led as orange when it's in hibernation.

    thanks so much! i didn't realize the g1s manual was on the asus website because i simply assumed it wasn't. but thanks! =]

    it could have been on hibernation because i tend to lower the screen a few moments before it fully shuts down so maybe it entered hibernation but i somehow doubt it. but, in hindsight, that must have been it. so, thanks!

    hey guys i have another followup question about my g1s. when i am not typing, the led at the bottom of the notebook is lit up green on the lightbulb icon and fades out through the battery, letter, and wireless icons. however, every time i put pressure on the laptop while typing, the three icons light up orange. how come this happens?

    I would guess a faulty LED connection. Nothing much to worry about, except you need some other way of determining the state of the battery reliably.
