Hello! I hope I've posting this in the right section of this forum - if not, I apologise.

I'm a bit of a computer novice, and I'm looking to buy a laptop for gaming. The two I like the look of are the Asus G50V and the N70SV (both of which I can get here in England from asuslaptop.co.uk - are they reasonable?).

The N70SV seems more powerful to me (but as I said, I'm not exactly tech-savvy!), but it's also a bit cheaper, which I don't understand. Could somebody please explain which would be better, and why?

    Thanks!

N70 sv x1 comes with a larger screen and a blue ray disc (optional on G50). It std CPU is faster but the G50v has a boost 2.79Ghz. The n70 also has a faster hd. I would check out the reviews on the games (by googling both models) you play to see which one better fills your needs. There is a screen size/resolution difference you may want to evaluate too. I purchased the n70sv x1 for multi media and to play STEAM online games which it does very well. It plays at a much lower heat level than my desktop gamer which in the summer help house cooling costs (which is why I did not purchase the top of the line gaming laptop). I really like mine for what I purchased it for. The G50v comes with some other things like a small system display screen and the whole thing looks pretty nice. For games like Crysis I still fire up the desktop.

    These are just two links,

The cooling pad listed on the new egg site really works nice with the n70. Do recomend getting the FX1 lap top sound card as when installed and configure right adds a lot to the gaming experience.

ASUS support has very poor reputation in the UK. Just one factor to keep in mind when deciding which computer to buy. :)
