Just got the new laptop yesterday, first things first is of course to install a fresh windows 7 copy.
I got past the "a required cd/dvd drive device driver is missing" by putting the intel USB 3 drivers on the C:/ root and selecting the dir where the .inf was located for my particular windows edition; afterwards it recognized my external DVD and proceeded to install.
But I am a bit confused about the ASUS default partition table, which goes something like this:

    Disk 0 Partition 1 - 4.0 GB (Primary)
    Disk 0 Partition 2 - 25.8 GB (Primary)
    Disk 1 Partition 1: SYSTEM - 200 MB (System)
    Disk 1 Partition 2 - 128 MB (MSR Reserved)
    Disk 1 Partition 3: OS - 186.3 GB (Primary)
    Disk 1 Partition 4: DATA - 254 GB (Primary)
Disk 1 Partition 5: Recovery - 25 GB (OEM Reserved)

So should I just delete everything, combine, then split into 2 partitions (one for OS one for everything else) ?
Or "clean" through shift+f10, the Disk 0, and leave them, but combine everything else?
I am just not really sure about this "hybrid SSD drive".

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

OK, if anyone runs into the same question, here is what I did and so far it seems to work fine.
When at the windows 7 install screen delete all the Disk 1 partitions, merging them into 1. Then split it into 2 partitions, depending on your preference, I had 170 GB for main windows one, and the rest as DATA.
Once windows 7 is installed, use amritpal72's guide here:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/675553-ux32vd-restoring-expresscache.html#post8726866
To create a hibernation and Expresscache partition on the SSD (Disk 0's).
All of this is of course if you do want to install windows "as normal" and not do the "install windows on the built in SSD".
Been playing around with it for a few hours, everything seems to be fine.

Sorry, if I am wrong. It sounds like you are not installing Windows 7 from the original DVD disc?

    Howdy,
I tried a few variations. I first cloned the drive. I then started up the factory drive and then made the recovery disc. I put the new intel 520 240mb SSD in the system, I then ran the recovery disc from an external drive. I was given the option to make it all 1 partition, or 2, and the option for sizes. This is all from the factory asus recovery disc which is made from within windows, and there asus software bundle stuff. You boot to that factory recovery disc you made, and it gives you options with your system.

I am installing windows 7 ultimate edition from a DVD, using an external DVD-ROM.

Ah, I just deleted most of the partitions, during windows 7 setup, and then created new ones. I am using the original hitachi hybrid drive, so I am not sure how that will translate to a full SSD.
