Hi, I was wondering if it's true that a disadvantage of (any) IPS screen is the horrible refresh rate? What is the manufacturer's spec on V6Va's screen?
Thanks in advance.

You will never get specs on the rate on a notebook panel. they dont really advertise them. The v6va isnt bad at all you really cant notice ghosting. Old IPS panels had high refresh rates newer ones though dont have the same problem. Remember though laptop lcds are never as fast as a desktop one.

The refresh rate on the V6va and the V6j both seem about the same...... both are very good and two of the best screens out there... so I really don't think there's a problem.. .but again it's hard to compare them to desktop panels....... faster refresh rate also uses more power... so I think there's a balance they need to try to make as well.

Refresh rate could also mean 60Hz, etc... And most LCDs have 60-75Hz refresh rates with their faster response times... -
Do refresh rates on LCD's really matter?
After using CRT's for some time now and using LCD's at school, my laptop, and friend's computers I haven't noticed a difference.
What I mean is an LCD at 60hz and my CRT at 75hz I didn't notice "flickering". I'm guessing because it's a Liquid Crystal Display, while the CRT's constantly paint each frame.
I hope I'm making sense. I'm not familiar with the technologies, but LCDs are constant no? While CRT's have to paint each frame?
You notice this when you view the screens through a camera or something like that you see CRTs constantly being repainted, while the LCDs have no flickering. You see this on the news too, with the screens they have in the background if they are CRTs while the LCDs don't flicker.
